A refuge wildlife biologist leads as wildflower walk.

The refuge offers ranger and volunteer-led interpretive programs on natural and cultural topics throughout the year. Examples of these include programs on specific plant and animal species that live on the refuge (shorebirds, woodcock, crabs, turtles/terrapins, etc.) as well as history talks, nature walks (spring wildflowers, fall foliage, etc.) and activities (archery, fishing). Announcements for these programs appear on our Facebook page and in the local media.

You can make requests for specific ranger-led programs at the refuge, or off-site presentations on wildlife and nature-related topics. We also offer virtual programming. All refuge-sponsored interpretive programs are free of charge. Call the Visitor Services Manager at 860-399-2513 for more information.
