About Julie Crawford

I am the Plant Ecologist for the Arizona Ecological Services Office out of Flagstaff, Arizona.  I have been working in this position since 2011, following more than 20 years as botanist, ecologist, and conservationist with various Federal, State, and non-profit organizations throughout the western U.S.  Much of my career has been spent researching the direct and indirect impacts of human activity on both rare and common plant species, communities, and ecosystems, including post-fire recovery, nonnative plant invasion, and climate change climate change
Climate change includes both global warming driven by human-induced emissions of greenhouse gases and the resulting large-scale shifts in weather patterns. Though there have been previous periods of climatic change, since the mid-20th century humans have had an unprecedented impact on Earth's climate system and caused change on a global scale.
