Leavenworth National Fish Hatchery will provide parking access to the public boat launch on Icicle Creek during the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife sport fishing season. We anticipate the fishing season will start in Mid-May and we expect it to close by June 30, 2025. Following the end of the sport fishing season the boat launch gates will close to public parking.
While the hatchery grounds remain open to the public year-round (no overnight parking or camping is allowed), changes in staffing and operational capacity are affecting the ability to safely manage the boat launch parking area beyond the end of the sport fishing season.

The boat launch is managed to facilitate sport and tribal fishing access to Icicle Creek. In the past, it has remained open during the month of July to provide access for tribal fishers after the State sport fishing season has concluded. For the 2025 season, the hatchery has developed an alternate access route for tribal fishers.
The City of Leavenworth is in the process of contracting with a third-party vendor for the return of its free-to-ride River Recreation Shuttle for the summer. Operating on weekends and select holidays, this convenient service will run from July 4, 2025, through September 1, 2025. The shuttle will operate at regular intervals, connecting designated takeout locations such as the Leavenworth boat launch with gear-drop and put-in spots, such as the public access entry at the Leavenworth National Fish Hatchery and the Icicle Road Bridge River Access Park. We acknowledge these changes have impacts to residents and visitors alike, especially during the summer months. The bet365下载ios is actively collaborating with the City of Leavenworth, Leavenworth Chamber of Commerce, and Chelan County to explore solutions that may help lessen the impact of the closure on the local community and ensure continued safe, responsible access to Icicle Creek for outdoor recreationists.
Updates on the status of the boat launch will be posted on the Leavenworth National Fish Hatchery website and social media channels as new information becomes available.
