The 5-mile Grassland Trail passes through prairie habitat adjacent to a large marsh. This trail is guided by 7 numbered signs and a brochure that describes each area that is marked. To get to the beginning of the trail from the Refuge headquarters, travel north on Highway 14 to 90th St NW (about 8 miles). Turn left and continue traveling west until you cross the Souris River (about 5.5 miles). You will see a sign on the north side of the road that marks the . When you have , turn right and follow the gravel road until you get back to Highway 14 (about 8 miles).
